Comments: James was born in Germantown in Prince William County, in the part that later was made into Fauquier County. He died in Lincoln County, Missouri, date unknown. Hiw wife was Leannah. James was a soldier in the Revolutionary war and was in the battle at Yorktown when Cornwallis surrendered in 1781. He was living in Lincoln County, Missouri when he applied for a pension for service in the war, May 12, 1834. See File No. R8638, National Archives, Washington, DC.
